FILE SUBMISSION
We accept most removable disk
media for both Macintosh and DOS/Windows platforms. You are
welcome to submit your file electronically as E-mail
attachment (5mb or less), file
upload, 3.5" disk, 100mb Iomega zip disk, FTP or CD
. Due
to the large file sizes required to support high quality digital
color printing, you may elect for file submission via courier
services such as UPS or Fed
Ex (Please include a printed hardcopy). Check
our File Preparation Guidelines for a complete list of
the removable media we accept as well as the computer platforms
and programs we support. Here is a list of some of the file
problems we look for:
Question
Answer
Q. Is artwork the proper size?
We require crop marks. Crop marks signify to the printer
what the final trimmed size of your order is. If bleed
is required make sure you follow our prepress
guidelines.
Q. Is layout orientation correct?
Portrait or Landscape
Q. Are all necessary fonts provided?
Applications all have their own way of managing fonts.
You should send all fonts you have used in your digital
file or visit
this page to learn how to embed fonts using specfic
desktop publishing programs.
Q. Are all graphics/images provided?
If you are using programs that use image linking make
sure you supply the source images
Q. Are all graphics/images linked properly?
Usually linking paths get lost in translation. This
is why we ask you to send source images, we may need
to assign our own paths.
Q. Are all graphics/images converted to CMYK if necessary?
When you are designing on screen the color language
is RGB.
When we print full color we use CMYK.
Make sure you convert your images to CMYK
as there is a visual difference sometimes.
Q. Is bleed provided if necessary?
Bleed
is a printing term that means the image exceeds the
sheet edge. It is the designer's responsibility to provide
proper bleed.
Q. Has artwork been cropped/masked properly?
Crop marks should be supplied embedded into your file.
Crop marks tell us where to cut your order.
Q. Is a composite proof provided?
When sending files you should always send a bitmap,
jpeg, gif or tiff image so we have a visual reference
point
Q. Is the artwork quality acceptable for the output
device?
All non vector images should be 300 DPI. Low resolution
images or bitmaps are a common problem, which will create
visible pixilation in your finished order. We
recommend 300 DPI for best results
Tips for sending us files:
Be sure to send only the files, which are needed for printing,
and one proof image file. DO NOT SEND THE ONLY COPY OF YOUR
FILES.
Make sure your pages are set properly for output. Page dimensions,
page orientation, margins, bleed requirement, etc. are all
set up.
Include all image and graphic files and supply original
and editable copies of all graphic files. Put graphic files
in the same folder/directory as the application file.
Include even those files you've placed FPO.
Indicate which low-resolution images need to be replaced
with high-resolution versions.
Include native file formats even if supplying EPS format.
Include or embed all fonts.
Clearly mark crop and final size information for all images
that need to be scanned.
Convert all images to CMYK.
Make sure all bleeds extend beyond the edge of the page
by 1/8".

Reprotech provides complete scanning services

flat-bed scanning for logos and halftones, is available. Color
correction is done on an image-by-image basis to provide the
most accurate color fidelity possible. Group or gang scanning
is available but is not recommended as it prevents us from giving
individual attention to each image. To
