Like any business transaction there is always calculated risk! Take the necessary time to learn what company online would best serve your needs. 4. Are reorders easy to place?

Remain completely pleasant, break the ice and move on. You are now creating a visual images that will blend into a future reference glance at your business card from that prospect! Think about businesses such as your dentist, vets or memberships you have. Many times they will send you business cards as reminders of appointments or upcoming events that may be of interest to you. Over decades business cards have been used as the ultimate communication vehicle by business people because of the results and affordability.

Many Ask…What is the Difference Between Digital and Offset

In the printing industry there has been a significant increase in the use of toner based digital printing. This technology is amazing, fast, and appears high quality…but is it really? This question is one that I get ask frequently. The quick answer is absolutely not! Toner does not absorb into the paper surface like offset printing inks do. Let me explain what the difference is to you, because we do use both.

  1. Toner based- Full Color Digital Printing- Is a printing method typically produced on a laser printer. With this printing method you can literally walk into your local Kinko’s and get a few hundred full color business cards knocked off while you wait. When you require color printing yesterday this is your best bet. On demand printing is another great use along with unique serialization. The simple fact is when you want to hook up with your project and go NOW this is a great solution. The draw backs include -poor longevity - not cost efficient on large runs - limited with types of media to print on and poor registration (sheet to sheet).
    What is Sheet-to-Sheet Registration?
Sheet to sheet registration is a term that describes each sheet of paper in each project is placed in the exact same position. Projects that require no finishing like tight cutting or any post press operations where close registration is critical to the next machine inline. The printing Press uses a registration method that refers to a gripper edge and side guide edge. These 2 edges are what all other commercial printing finishing machines stay in tune with. So, I don’t recommend Digital printing for any high-end productions jobs.
  2. Ink based CMYK Printing- This form of printing is not as fast as digital printing but close. If you hook up with the right online firms you can find companies that will delivery CMYK business cards in a few days. If you are a broker, then you can develop a nest of suppliers and be able to ship full color cards in a few days. There is no doubt in my mind that true 4 color process printing will always out perform Digital printing in every aspect accept speed. It is a way of pretty well etching your message in stone. Once a CMYK printed business card is produced it cannot be undone. It is precisely lithographed in inks that absorb into the paper surface that are very difficult to damage or harm, especially when you add protective coatings. With this process there are several other functions required before you can start printing like, Ripping, plate making and press set-up (make ready) …now you are ready to print. After the job is printed it will usually require drying time before it can be handled by post press, unless you apply special coatings like AQ.

If you’re in a mad panic then digital printing is likely your best solution, you can use companies like Office Depot Kinko’s or Staples. When you have a little more time on your hands, get the real McCoy…Offset printing…for the long haul!

[…] There are infinite variations and combinations of printing inks, when it comes to our unconscious responses to color schemes. The 2 most common employed consumer printing methods used are spot color and CMYK color. CMYK or full color printing uses 4 primary colors Cyan, magenta, yellow and Black. These 4 colors are then printed usually on white paper in overlaying tint values for truest reproduction. Spot color usually is defined by the pantone matching system but not always. Some corporations choose to adapt their own unique ink color which is identified on a scale of 100, e.g. 10 parts reflex blue, 80 parts transparent white and 10 parts black. This is the same method used for mixing paints for rooms in your home that you select from a swatch book. […]
