Ink and Papers Analyzed and Matched Program Introduction

The program began by carefully breaking the Pantone guide into 3 basic color zones Green, Red and Blue. Then we selected light and dark grades of each hue. The pantone colors shown are reviewed partially by students enrolled as Graphic Design majors and Typography.

With that in mind there were 9 complete colour categories that could be used for intended paper surfaces. We will continue to analyze execution of graphics and print such as graphic elements, fine art graphics and many other print and litho related practices we can poke our noses into :-).

    Aqueous Coating is added on-line as a finishing touch that seals the printed image instantly. Varnish on Cornwall Coated Cover can be applied to increase the longevity of the printed masterpiece. Varnish will not provide as much protection as AQ or UV coatings but considerably more artistic print practices can be applied to dull and glossy press varnishes.

    Explaination of Aqueous coating (known as- AQ) ?

    AQ (Aqueous coating) are transparent printing protection finishes employed to conserve your finished product. Run your fingers across a clear coating that entrancingly boosts the spirit and color vibrancy of your completed printed masterpeice. Discover the look and feel of this amazing coating...a see through finish that seals the ink so sheets come off the presses dry enough to move immediately and help meet dead lines.

    Techniqually this is how it is done

    Aqueous coating coats is practiced while the paper material is still on the press ... scratch resistant, durable and protective. On commercial presses you can achieve a variety of finishes more economically than varnish coated, but is restricted with graphic design styles . If you want a special type of Aqueous coating (AKA- AQ) it best determined by the printing company depending upon the variety of publishing machines employed.

    Techniqually this is how it is done

    A dissemination of small rounded molecules of high molecular weight polymer in water. AQ (Aqueous coating) dries by dissipation of water and ammonium hydroxide given by the protective coverings solid. Usually this happens by ingestion into the papers.     Tinted Varnish

    Varnish ExampleTinted Varnish is the result of any time you introduce additives to varnish, it's considered a specialty and a real look of elegance. When you varnish on your printing on a wet layer of ink, both tend to blend together and absorb into the paper as they dry. Sometimes varnish is done in a separate pass then followed up with a double hit to increase the effect. Some think Varnish on your printing is for the protection of printed areas but in fact it is used more effectively as a design attribute. Tinted Varnish may even be substituted for ink delivering a translucent appearance when printed. Varnish your printing only on specific areas of a printed piece is known as spot varnish. Varnishes definitely will have a more noticeable sheen as compared to a virgin print.
