Offset lithography is a process known as CMYK Printing. It is used for items such as Full color brochure, business cards, postcards, catalogues, etc. Anytime you see colorful photo printed on paper it is usually a result of four-color process printing. Four-color printing is also known to as CMYK color printing. It uses cyan (blue), magenta, yellow, and black inks. Spot colors are another method of printing that is used. It is the most accurate way to match and maintain colors. When spot color is used it is mixed exactly the way paint is mixed. Remember the last time you went to the local Home Depot and looked through all the paint swatches to determine the most suitable color. Every paint color has a corresponding mixture…so many parts white, so many parts red, etc. Mixing spot color inks is done in the same fashion.
